The Vail SIP platform was initially deployed into production in 2001 at Vail's hosting facilities and currently delivers over four billion minutes of mission-critical voice traffic per year.

Vail is able to offer this value because our software-based architecture that utilizes off the shelf Intel servers. Extensible Software Vail's ability to quickly extend our platform technology offers real benefit as we continue to innovate to support new telephony-based service offerings. For example, we are constantly extending our SIP stack to support the latest call progress functionality including beep detection to enable deterministic identification of both fax and answering machines. Unlike other companies who rely on third-party technology partners, Vail has developed and has source code control of all of the software utilized to support our hosting services. Therefore, we can quickly offer future platform extensions based on market opportunities and customer requests.
Extreme Scale The Vail SIP Platform and our Voice Hosting Services are capable of scaling to meet almost every customer application need. Vail currently runs tens of thousands of ports in an N+N redundant architecture across multiple facilities that are interconnected with a variety of VoIP and TDM carriers. Additionally, the Vail platform is capable of supporting hundreds of calls per second exceeding the needs of the most demanding applications.
Future Proof Because Vail has the highest degree of code control of our platform technology and we have a proven history of being able to develop compelling telephony platform technology, Vail is able to efficiently extend our technology to integrate to the latest technologies. This may include an interface to a lower cost or better performing speech engine, support for a new VoIP CODEC, or a new SIP RFC. Given Vail's sophisticated operations infrastructure the VNOC has visibility into and is capable of supporting the extreme inbound and outbound campaigns in the hundreds on thousands of calls per hour and tens of thousand of simultaneous ports in a hybrid IP/PSTN environment.
